If you are firm on that brand, I would expect pretty much any plumber would furnish and install one for you - it is very commonly available.


I don't find an authorized installer list on the company website.


Note that American is now (for about 10 years) owned by AO Smith, which also makes AO Smith, Aquasana, American ProLine, US Craftmaster, and in Canada GSW and John Wood water heaters - no ready information whether the American line is built as it used to be or has merged with AO SMith designs. AO Smith also makes water heaters for Whirlpool, and is (at least recently) the sole water heater supplier to Lowes.


Plumbing would be your Search the List category for well-rated and reviewed plumbers.


Here also is a link to a bundle of responses on typical water heater replacement costs - in NYC for a normal (40-50 gallon) water heater of same fuel tyupe (gas, electric, etc) as you have there now, probably about $1500-1800 installed I would expect, unless a walk-up of more than 1-2 stories in which case expect more.
