Can Angie's List categories be broken up better?

I joined angie's list because I am building a new home. My frustration is the breakdown of catagories. When I was looking for a framer - I had to sort through 'picture framers' and for a general contractor in my area I found no reference. I relied on BBB and other sources for the general contractor, but would like to see catagories divided more clearly for remodel or construction.

Ramona,

I'm sorry you've experienced these frustrations while trying to search the List. We've tried to label and consolidate the categories in a way we thought they'd be easiest to find. We realize though, that not everyone thinks exactly the same, which is why we've also created a synonym list. If you can't find a specific category, click on "synonym list" below the category drop down box. For example, if you look in the synonym list under general contractor you'll see that we've placed that under the Builders - Homes category. We also have 2 remodeling categories, Remodeling - General and Remodeling - Kitchen & Bathroom. For the type of framing you're looking for, search under Carpentry - Unfinished. (We also have a category for picture framing under Framing.)

If you still have trouble finding what you need, give us a call or send us an email and we'll do the searching for you. Contact Us.

I'll also pass along the suggestion that we should review our category breakdowns. We're always open to suggestions on how we can improve.

I hope that helps!

Sarah
