Question DetailsAsked on 9/15/2013

Can’t find a brick mason to repair cracks in my exterior brick walls and front brick mailbox (Melbourne, FL)

My home exterior is brick over wood foundation (all homes in my neighborhood regardless of construction type must have a brick exterior). There are many cracks (large and small), in the bricks that need repair before I have more water damage. I need someone to clean out the cracks, blow them out and stuff them with brick mortor. I suppose other materials can be used for smaller cracks. Also, my mailbox is made from brick and is falling apart. I cannot find a mason in my area? Who can do this job? My location is Melbourne, FL.

I am surprised that you can not find a good mason in your state. Masonry exteriors seem to be one of the top choices there. If you can not find one on Angie's List try asking at a local Mason Supply yard (not a big box home center), you should be able to find that in your local Yellow Pages. You could also keep an eye out for anyone doing similar work in your area, you would be able to see their workmanship in this manner first hand. If you like what you see you could write down the name and phone number and call of even get out and talk to them. Melbourne is not that rural an area where there would not be a lot of contractors.

May be because you are using the wrong search term, like Brick instead of Mason :

Angie's List has 16 Masonry Contractors on their listing here -

http://www.angieslist.com/companylist...

Search the List (in green banner bar) for local masons and their reviews and ratings.

and if you google this search phrase you get 17 (most duplicates) - Melbourne, Fl brick masons
