Can you provider credible insurance companies with movers insurance for a cross country move - Boston to PHX?

My home insurance coverage does not cover mover's insurance. Thank you so much!!

It does not cover it - and commonly also does not cover it if in storage for more than 30 days or so - but many offer a supplemental rider you can buy which does.


Otherwise - most major interstate moving companies offer it as a supplemental service (at a fee of course) - in addition to the normal ridicuously small $0.60/pound normal shipping coverage. Note sometimes this is insurance they or a subsidiary company are selling - sometimes it is third party insurance they are just acting as a sales agent for.


You could contact a local insurance broker (they get paid a commission by the insurance carriers to market their insurance) can get coverage for you.


A couple of companies I have heard of people using - have never used myself (I have always used Bekins for personal moves, and their supplemental coverage) so can't give a recommendation one way or the other on them - BakerInternational, TransGuard, Rainier, Allstate, Geico.
