Ceiling in living room is sagging & has a crack in it. What should I do.

House was built in 1950 & has been added unto 2 to 3 times that we know of. the section in our living room that is sagging & has a crack in it is one of the areas that was added unto over the years.

OK - between your two questions, you have a sagging living room ceiling, and broken floor joist and displaced or failing support column - see other question for response on both issues.


On the ceiling crack issue, common causes are discussed in the links below this answer - though in your case it sounds like foundation issues or possibly DIY construction that was not properly framed may well be your problem.
