Question DetailsAsked on 6/4/2011

Do I have a problem with my toilet?

After flushing my toilet, I can hear the water shut off after the toilet has filled back up again.  But, when it shuts off I can hear a 'reverberation' sound?  I don't recall hearing that sound when I initally moved into the home 7 years ago.  Is this something I need to worry about?

For starters have your water pressure checked! You can buy a water test gauge at a box store and it threads onto a garden hose connection and see what the water pressure is some gauges have a needle on it were you can leave the gauge on overnight and see if it increases in pressure! water pressure around 80 is OK in my district check with your plumbing department and ask them the what is the maximum water pressure you can have on the main. They do make water measuring devices or commonly called ballcocks that will take the high pressure and have a soft closing mechanism. Good luck1
