Question DetailsAsked on 3/8/2012

Do you know what MTM is? Have you had a comprehensive medication review? Have you asked if your insurance covers a medication check?

If you have Medicare and fit certain qualifications, your insurance has to pay for at least one medication review annually. As a Pharmacist I find that a single review without follow up is inadequate to help people with what we can do with Pharmaceutical care. That said, a free med review or one that is supplemented by insurance is not bad.

This is not well publicized, I've seen quite a few questions related to Medicare and I'm curious if people know they have this benefit. I've been impressed at Angie's list members interest in finding good providers.

As a health professional I wanted to extend this helpful information as well as get feedback on what Angie's List members already know. It is very important to use the benefits you have and may not know about. Be sure to examine your coverage, find out about benefits like case management, condition management and preventative health services included in your plans. I look forward to hearing if these are things you already knew about.
