No - no link between them. Angies List generates its ratings and reviews based on reviews - member reviews contribute to the ratings, all reviews from members and non-members both can be posted.


And to be realistic - in my opinion a BBB rating that is bad is very meaningful because it is REAL hard to get a bad BBB rating - I have seen companies with a hundred or more complaints and many unresolved or unanswered complaints with A ratings. Saw one B rated company once with over 700 complaints in 3 years !


But a good rating is pretty meaningless - based on the many comments on the web (and I had this happen myself several times) of the BBB selling ratings - offering companies a higher rating if they pay a higher membership fee.
