Question DetailsAsked on 5/21/2011

Has anyone replaced vinyl siding with brick?

My house has a brick front and vinyl siding on the other three sides. Is it possible? Is it very expensive? How long does it take? Were you satisfied with the work? How much did you pay? - please let me know the size of your house. I'm especially looking for a good company in San Antonio texas.

Unless you have a brick ledge around the house. The bottom blocks are wider than the upper one or two rows such as the bottom nine rows of blocks are 12 inch and the upper course is 8 inch This gives a foundation for the bricks to be set upon
Without this ledge you would have to excavate around the house and build some sort of footer for the bricks to be placed on.
This would be a very expensive project

I remember in NY they had companies that would use what was called brick facing.
Basically they would coat your house in a mortar and actually design a brick looking veneer.
I don't know if that application is still around.
The other option would be a faux brick that could be attached to the house with a special sealant.
Good Luck
