It would vary based on the number of people, kids and animals in the home, and the type and extent of the cleaning (laundry, bedding changed, dishes washed, windows, etc.) you want done and the frequency of visits (usually it's less per visit if you have weekly cleaning, versus only once or twice a month cleaning). And you get what you pay for. Professional cleaners usually charge a one time start up cleaning fee in which they come in and do a thorough cleaning, and then maintain that level moving forward. i expect you are looking at a minimum of $150-200 per visit, possibly a bit less if you have more frequent cleanings and do not have a lot of people or animals living in the home. My recommendation is that you try to find a cleaning service through word of mouth, ask neighbors, etc. Remember these people are generally in your home while you are not home and so it's important to be able to rely on and trust them! I had one house cleaner I really liked, but I found that she liked my medicine cabinet more and was taking my medications! If you go through an agency you pay a bit more, but get a few more assurances as well. There are a lot of variables, be sure you have a clear understanding of what will and won't be done, etc.

In addition to what the above responder said, you can get an individual that was referred by a reliable source for a lot cheaper than a company. Individuals take longer to clean, but when you find someone you can trust and rely on, they are more flexible and you can work out things on your own. Every little thing you want extra from a company, they will charge you for. I worked out with my lady that she will do one thing extra each time she comes at no extra charge, so this time might be a few windows and next time might be cleaning the cabinet fronts. Usually, nothing too major. If it's big, then you may have to pay extra. Also, conclude at the start that things are going to get broken, people are human. I've heard some people get irate if someone breaks something. If it's a habit, then I'd do something, but people do have accidents.

If you have animals, the cleaning can get very expensive or if it gets too dirty, they may drop you. People can only tolerate so much. I wouldn't expect my cleaning lady to clean anything I'm not willing to clean. My cleaning lady owns animals and horses and there are some houses she has dropped because they were too bad.

Also you should expect to pay a bonus/tip for Christmas, Easter, birthday and/or any holiday they celebrate. That's common and greatly appreciated. I know several that have dropped clients for being scrooges!

Good Luck!!
