Question DetailsAsked on 9/9/2011

How do I get rid of gnats or fruit flies?

I had several small plants that were brought inside, and I believe that was the cause. The plants have been removed, but the gnats/fruit flies still remain.

If the plants were the source for the flies - they could be fungus gnats -
If they are in fact fungus gnats - the course of action would be to a) remove the plants - b) if you have other house plants - slow down on watering - over watering will cause fungus and fungus gnats feed on the fungus. - identify the fly you have in your house. That will determine the action plan for eliminating the flies.
