How much is the average cost of furnace belt replacement done by a company?

High pitched squealing, one website says it could be the belt, if it needs replaced which I can't do myself, what's the average cost lowest to highest? Internet is only pulling up average prices for replacing blower motor

Minimum service call charge typically $75-150 depending on local labor rates and union strength - and changing belt or diagnosing the issue should be able to be easily done during the minimum service call period (sometimes 1/2 hour, more commonly up to 1 hour work). The belt itself typically $10-15 on up to $50 range depending on size and brand.

Problem could be dragging blower fan, dry blower motor bearings, or slipping belt. Or if a high-efficiency furnace or one with an eductor motor assist, could be an eductor motor squeeling. (That is a fan which forces the exhaust gases out through the flue - found on all direct-vent appliances, some others.)

If it is the belt it would be noticeably loose or very easily depressed more than 1/2" or so at the center point between pulleys, and (with power off so it does not turn on while you are doing this) if you hold the hub or the pulley on the blower or motor you will likely be able to slide the belt a bit on it if you bunch the belt toward the pulley, which you cannot do with a properly tensioned one. If the belt has been slipping much the inside surface of the belt will be polished glossy or starting to shred if it is a slipping belt too. Also, belt squeel will usuallybe much worse at fan startup and slack off once it gets up to speed. But generally, the belt is not at fault unless VERY old - it usually slips because the motor or fan are dragging or clogged. Right way to diagnose it is to remove the belt, then turn the motor and fan by hand to see if they turn freely without any dragging or noise. Sometimes it is something as simple as dust bunnies causing the blower fan to drag against the housing.

Sounds like, since is is clear you are not a DIY'er of this class, you need to find a well-rated and reviewed Heating and A/C contractor in Search the List. If it has not been serviced/cleaned in the p-ast year or two, might schedule that at the same time - typically about $75-125 range, though this is not the season to get a bargain deal on that - those deals are usually in summer or early fall.
