How do you clean mold on popcorn ceiling in a walk in closet from a small roof leak? The roof will be repaired later this week.

The quick and easy (though not really the right way) is that you could spray or towel soak with chlorine bleach or use Kilz Overhead Stain Killer to kill the mold, let dry, brush off any residue with a stiff brush (without taking off popcorn and taking care not to inhale it), paint with spray can Kilz paint (kills and prevents mold as well as priming), then spray repaint when well dry with ceiling paint. I say spray because brush painting does not go well with popcorn finishes, though if you redid the entire closet ceiling at least it would match.

The really right way would be to tear out and replace the drywall in the closet ceiling, because the mold will be in the drywall paper and also in the drywall top-surface paper and any overlying insulation. You might also have mold or rot started on structural members such as joists or trusses in the attic, which should be checked out by the roofer.
