How much does it cost to build a storage shed

I would like to buy a storage shed that is basically self assembling but I wanted to see if someone with more experience than i could do it - and how much it would cost?

Anyone who can use a screwdriver, wrench, hammer can build a shed - kit or otherwise.

If you hire a handyman or landscaping or deck company to do it (in rough increasing order of costliness), probably run about $150-250 for a normal less than 10' size, to maybe $300 if a large one (over about 10' long). Maybe 1.2 that if handyman and you offer to be on dumb end of lifting and holding, because it goes WAY faster with 2 people - no need to prop walls up, etc.

Plus cost of any pavers or concrete blocks to set it on - another $30-100 depending on size. This assumes area is already roughly level, so no excavation or fill needed.

I assume you mean a shed with its own floor (or not having a floor) - if you need a plywood covered deck built for it to sit on, then around $6-10/SF additional depending on whether treated framing or not.

I would recommend going with a prefab storage shed instead of a new build. This will be much more affordable, and the skill level is beginner. Storage shed kits by Arrow are the way to go! They are the original designer of sheds back in the 60s and are the number one name in the world for high quality sheds in steel and vinyl.

You can get a kit brand arrow for around $350.00 delivered. The bigger sheds like a 8x10 or a 10x14 go for around $500.00 to $800.00. Thats great though...considering a wood shed custom built will be well over $1,000.

The best place to buy a shed in metal, vinyl and even wood is Original Shelters. These folks have the best prices anywhere and offer free S&h to boot.

Hope this helps and good luck with building or buying a storage shed. I have included a direct link to their website in the source box below:)
