Question DetailsAsked on 5/20/2014

How much should it cost (labor only) to stain a 2,000 sq ft log home?

Assuming log cabin is in good condition, recently build (2010) what is a reasonable estimate to wash and put two coats of stain?

The other comment obviously has a bad link - comes up when I click on it as "cost to stain hardwood floors" - I think he meant to give this link -

Bear in mind that link is for cedar siding, not a log house, which could take more or less stain depending on wood type and prior treatment. From my experience with log houses, they need a LOT of pressure washing because the top face of the logs catches and holds the dirt very well, so I would say a $3-4 total cost including cleaning and two coats would be expected if this is initial staining - $2.50-3+ if already stained when built.

Remember, if has not already been stained once before, will take at least 3-5 good drying days in sunny or dry windy weather to dry the logs out for staining.
