Unless your shingles are getting pretty old and curled or cracked and shabby looking (at which point leaks several places would be expected), no need to replace the entire roof for one leak - a good roofer with a thermal IR scanner should be able to find the source of the leak in short order and repair it for typically $300-600 range for one spot.

For total repalcement, normal composition (asphalt) shingles commonly run about $4-6/SF in lower-cost and more rural areas, more like $5-7/SF in urban area - and of course on up for longer-life, hurricane or hail rated, fancy designs, etc.

You can find a LOT of previous questions with answers about roofing materials, issues, repairs, contract red flags, typical costs, and some opinions on specific brands - look in the Home > Roofing link, under Browse Projects, at lower left.
