How to evaluate plumbers pricing?

The only way I can think of is to compare estimates by line item. If the work is already done, then it is too late to evaluate because nobody can see what he had to deal with to complete the job.

Price hourly, how long will it, or did it take. You can google to see what the hourly average for your area should be. A good starting point would be $100 per hour. In our county it takes about $25 an hour just to cover our license and insurance. That don't even get us there. On a $100 per hour we make about $30-$35 profit.
