Question DetailsAsked on 8/1/2013

How do we kill the ALL roots on our long gone trumpet vine?

We thought we had dug it all up and gotten all the roots a couple years ago. Now, we have roots, sending up shoots in 2 flowerbeds and part of our front and back yard.
We kill the above ground starts with a mixture of round-up and vine killer. This is our 2nd year dealing with the problem.
I was told that if you pound a copper stake into a main root (which we thought we had gotten...but must not have obviously) that this will kill all the roots.
Does anyone have an answer for us?
Your advice is greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for the assistance!!
Kim

Well - maybe time for us to rethink here - we are trying to GROW one.

Google this search term for a bunch of articles on this subject - mostly from garden websites and the Cooperative Extension Service and ag universities, which are more likely to produce reliable information for this subject - kill trumpet vine
