I have always used a weed killer that will kill everything, like Roundup. The danger with that is that you must make sure and not get the weed killer on plants you want to keep.

We use Roundup, too. The Scotts website has some suggestions. You can get something like a paper sack and put it around the poison ivy to keep the spray off other plants, but grass does return after a year or two. Just be careful.

Let's try to keep harmful chemicals out of our environment. Use a spray bottle with vinegar and a little dish soap . Put it on during the strongest sun time. It will die, with repeated applications.
