Question DetailsAsked on 9/4/2013

How do we keep the spiders and their webs from collecting on our vinyl siding?

We have no outside lighting that draws them but we do live in a wooded area so we know they are abundant.
Can we spray vinegar or something on the siding that will deter the spiders?

Anything you put on the siding may discolor and stain it, so I would avoid that - plus you are talking a LARGE area to cover with a spray. I would recommend Ortho Home Defense Max, either in granule or spray form, to put a barrier at the foundation where most of them are climbing up onto the siding. A few will arrive drifting on the wind on web stringers, but a quick hit with a hose or with a rag on the end of a piece of 1/2" PVC pipe (for reach) should take care of them.
