What do you mean your answer. There is no answer to my question which is I just paid by credit card. How will I get a refund if it will end up costing less. One of my fireplaces has not been used. Not sure if both fireplaces will need cleaning. Would there be a credit on my next statement from Master Card? Scheduled date of service is week of 10/28 or 11/04/13

Any reputable chimney sweep service would not make a customer pay in advance. This should pose a red flag for the exact reason you are worried about. Most companies have pricing schedules that can cover a range of services and homeowner needs. These are usually determined once a sweep arrives at your house and determines which services you actually need and then can bill you once the work is complete and you are satisfied. Paying by credit card , check or good old cash are usually acceptable. So beware of prepaying for services not yet performed by any service company.
