Hi, this is Meranda with Angie's List.

You can log in at www.angieslist.com and search for the category "furniture - custom made" to find local furniture builders and carpenters who specialize in this work. If you have trouble or can't find someone through the search, please reach out to member services for additional help and potential providers: memberservices@angieslist.com or 1-888-944-5478 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern time.

Thanks!

In addition to Furniture - custom made, if you are looking for a bed with under-storage and basically just a small recess on top to hold the box frame from sliding, then a Cabinet Maker / Custom Cabinet Shop might be able to do it cheaper. A finish carpenter could probably do it too, if you find one that does built-in furniture and shelving, depending on how fancy you are thinking.

One other thing you couldlook into is kits - there are a LOT of kit bed frames out there fairly cheap.

I found a site that has good instructions for making a loft bed and you can make one off of these instructions. Click on assembly instructions on this page.
