I'm looking for a way to charge my android phone on a week long river rafting trip. Any ideas?

I will be on a week long river rafting trip, camping each night in a new spot and want to find a way to keep my phone charged for emergencies. Is that possible? Any ideas?

Here I thought a week rafting or camping trip was supposed to get you away from the constant demands of your electronic devices.


I would check with the rafting coordinator if the area even has cell service - quite likely ti does not.


Otherwise, because you likely will not have much daylight time off the water where a solar charger would work (though I have heard of people seeing how close to the campfire they could get their solar cell without melting it to use that as a charging source), a crank type charger is likely your best bet - making sure it and the phone are well waterproofed in the raft (cell phone in double waterproofing and padding in an inner pocket so it can't get lost if you upset) - here are several articles on that type device:
