You can find a LOT of previous similar questions, including info on the better types of materials to use for various purposes, things to watch out for (contaminated soil, construction debris, land-clearing debris, etc), maximum particle size in the fill versus fill thickness (generally not over 1/3 fill layer thickness), need for compaction to avoid future settlement andsubsequent sinkholing or ponding, typical pricing, etc.

Check these questions in the Lawn & Garden > Landscaping Materials, under Browse Projects, at lower left.

Also pay attention to what a "truckload" is - a cubic yard or two from a small topsoil provider using a large pickup or small tilt-bed work truck, 4-10 yards for a small or very old dumptruck, 10-15 CY from a full-size modern dumptruck (plus possibly 6-12CY in a towed pup trailer), or possibly 12-30CY in a tractor side-dump or end-dump tractor-trailer combo.

Your Search the List categories for this would typically be Landscaping if you need it spread too, Mulch and Topsoil for growth-media soil, or Stone and Gravel for general or structural fill (crushed stone and gravel).
