Question DetailsAsked on 12/6/2016

I need to move some very heavy gym equipment out and a heavy sofa couch out.

I have a treadmill and a stationary Golds Gym Power bike to the garage and move a sofa bed in the house. It probably won't even take an hour.

Common solution - drape blankets or quilts over it to minimize wall nicks, and have a few strong-backed friends over for a 15 minutes move and then pizza and beer or a movie night.

Professionally - Movers (normal transfer and storage companies who would do the packing / unpacking for a household move) commonly about $150-200 for one hour crew minimum charge.

Cheaper, but maybe not as careful about walls and doors - Hauling (trash hauling companies, who normally haul out and dispose of accumulated yard or attic or garage junk furniture and such) - many of them will do limit in-house furniture moving around.

Some Handymen will also do this - but usually just one-man outfits (though sometimes they can pick up another they know to help on two-man jobs) - probably about same cost as Haulers and probabluy generally not as good on appointment times to do it.

If you are going to have to take off work for this schedule first thing in morning to have a much better chance of them gettiing there at scheduled time. Or schedule for Saturday - though MOvers likely will charge overtime for that - others may or may not.

Be sure to talk to prospective contact about whether this will need partial disassembly to fit through doorways and around corners or not so they bring tools. And of course cheaper if you can do any needed disassembly/reassembly yourself.
