What happened - did you have a falling out with the deck builder ? (Or was this a DIY job) ? Assuming below this is wood deck. Would normally be included in the deck construction contract.

Painters can do this of course, though they tend to puosh paints rather than stains, which do not last anywhere as long and also tend to rot the deck material. Deck and Porch contractors would be the usual vendor for this, though finding one to do JUST the staining might be a bit tougher than if they built it too.

Below are some previous questions with answers on recommended product types, and the issues with "heavy" or "paint" or "Rhino" type products versus penetrating stains. My personal preference for long life, though basically only 2 colors available (can be recolored to some extent, but still only to greenish or brown), is copper treatment chemical like Cupreanol to treat the wood with preservative. Can then be left that way (my 30 year old deck built with treated timber and retreated at 1 year is just at the point of needing a good deck cleaner pressure washing and retreating), or after several months to a year sit time to thoroughly dry at depth, can be washed and dried and overlaid with an oil based penetrating stain - though granted you need to test a spot first because the end result will generally be quite a bit darker than just the stain color.
