I purchased the wrong size garage door and can't return do it being a special order. Suggestions?

Besides the typical craigslist or marketplace to sell them is there a place that may by them?

I am assuming you mean a rollup door, not entry door - entry door it is usually pretty easy to modify the rough openign to fit a misfit door.

I doubt any company will buy it, especially if special order (so non-standard size presumably). Sounds like Craigslist or local online or paper sale flyer/blog is your only likely bet.

If you can't find a buyer, check with Habitat for Humanity - in some areas they have a store where they sell leftover/donated building materials. They may take it off your hands for nothing so you can take a tax deduction (if you itemize your deductions) for the purchase price, at any rate.

Or think about building a larger garden playhouse/shed/motorized toy storage area with a roll-up door. Some people have enclosed the underside of their deck (putting a membrane roofing over the top) and put in a used garage rollup door across the end or front for a large-area outdoor storage area - just watch out for drainage considerations (where water from top goes and yard water getting in), ability to clean leaves and moss and such off the top if not truly roofed-over, and where deck snow is piled if in snow country so you don't put in a door which will be unopenabel all winter or even damaged by snow berm from the deck.

Thinking about that, it is remotely possible you may be able to sell it to a shed builder (Builders - Garages and Sheds) who custom-builds wood sheds - they might give you maybe 1/4-1/2 value on it and build it into a custom shed or toy (snowmachine, 4 wheeler, boat, etc) garage.

You did not say what was wrong with it - unless it is too low for your vehicles, you might be able to modify the rough opening to fit it.
