Question DetailsAsked on 1/7/2017

I need someone who can reupholster a couch and a loveseat in Burleson, TX area

The furniture is RANCH OAK by the A.Brandt Company. The set was purchased in 1978!! and we still love it. It is solid oak construction, very sturdy and the visible wood accents are in mint condition. However, the cushions and other covering is worn and the cushions have flattened. Additionally, the backrests need to be straightened as the set was made with a deep slant causing the person to lean in an uncomfortable position.

Upholstering - General in the Services arewa of Search the List would be your category to find a shop for this. Note - very few do it at your home, so if you need them to pick them up and redeliver them after repair be sure to discuss that ability and cost when you call. Or look into finding friend(s) with pickup or trailer to help carry and transport them to the shop once you choose one.

Also - since you want the backs to be reangled steeper, that mioght call for a Furniture - Refinishing and Repair shop instead - or both - them first for the reconfiguring the angle, then upholstering shop for that. Obviously, finding a repair shop that also reupholsters would be simpler and undoubtedly cheaper - but many refinishing/repair shops only do wood furniture repairs and refinishing, no upholstery or only small things like dining room chair seats. You might also want to arrange to test the new back slope before the upholstery and cushioning is removed and before the reupholstering commences to be sure you like the angle. Going steeper should be no problem with normal couch construction - going flatter is where it could get difficult or need a custom angle made to support it.
