I turn the remote control to off but a clicking sound continues

The sound is like a spark ignite but I have a pilot light.

Sound to me like the ignitor is continually trying to ignite the pilot light - could be because the button on the remote is stuck (remove battery to see if it stops), or the sensor on the ignitor has failed so it keeps on trying to relight the pilot. Or with some brands, the gas control valve is stuck in the START or LIGHT position rather than PILOT or ON or AUTO - might be partway turned to START.

If that does not solve it, then you need (assuming this is a stove or fireplace you are talking about) a Heating and A/C or specialty fireplace/stove contractor to check it out and maybve replace the ignitor or its control board.
