If someone has bought a business phone number that existed from a previous trusted business and is abusing it, how would a customer know?

A local hot tub-(spa) business that has been there 20 for years went out of business. Its business phone number is still all over the internet. Another hot tub-(spa) service company has bought the phone number from the phone company and has charged customers for services never provided. I have a major complaint and not sure of the right authorities to complain to. The phone number was purchased from the phone company legally. But the customer base is being lied to. The customers think it is the same service company. Is your company the right company to report this to? I think the public should know about the change. The information on the internet is not correct. It shows a store front and the products that they carry. The business that bought the phone number works from their home. They have no address , no store or showroom. Because the previous trusted business is still a virtual entity on the internet, customers assume it's ok to have a in home service calls. Can your company help?

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! You should absolutely submit a review of the company on www.angieslist.com, and give us a call at 1-888-944-LIST so we can check in to both companies and update the out-of-business company's profile.
