In what order do I proceed: exterior house painted. much rotted wood on both fascia and soffit, with gutters attached?

Need exterior of house painted, found much rotted wood in fascia & soffits with gutters attached. Where is best area to start with repairs?

Best Guess without seeing project. Replace gutters after replacing all the rotten wood. Consider using azec manufactured wood if money is not a consideration. (Is really nifty as non rottable material for window sills).

In some cases shorter gutter lengths like 25' can be dropped, and rehung but usually when home is in the condition yours is they should be replaced. Most homes can have the gutters off for an extended period of time without danger allowing the carpentery work & painting to be done before new installation of guttering done. Get 3 bids make no pre payments,& use Angie's List or BBB for source of handymen,siding installers & or gutter contractors.

FYI If your home was built before 1978 contractor must have a Lead Safe Renovator certificate. (This pertains to Lead Paint)
