Question DetailsAsked on 9/21/2011

Is there an alternative to polyurethane varnish for wood floors?

My polyurethaned floors are not holding up at all to dogs and kids traffic. I would like to find a much tougher finish that could be touched up as needed, sort of like Tung oil.

Several coats of an oil based finish are still the best way to put a durable finish on a hardwood floor. I don't really know of any that "touch up" easily.
