Is there home remedies to get urine smell out of upholstery

A neighbor sat in my son's chair and her urine went through her pad she wears.Smells horrific.Is there a home remedy I could use?I need to do this before he gets home from work, it's his gaming chair.N idea why she didn't us bathroom?PLZ HELP!

Presumably she wears the pad/diaper because of a bladder control medical problem - I am sure she is mortified by this incident.


For fabric baking soda poultice should help - then some Woolite or similar cleaning/disinfecting agent. Of course, test first on hidden piece of fabric.


Best product (again, check for color-fastness on an unseen edge of fabric) - a brandname pet urine cleanup product.


Unfortunately, neither of these will kill the smell totally, assuming a permeable fabric, because it soaked into the cushion material. While a carpet/furniture cleaning company might get it mostly out, probably the only total solution would be to have the seat fabric removed and cleaned or replaced and the batting or cushioning material replaced - Upholstering would be your Search the List category.
