My personal experience with what I have seen/heard of home warrnaty companies - a total waste of money in most cases, and most of them fight tooth and nail or make it darn near impossible to process a claim ot maximize their profit. I have never heard a customer of a warranty company (as opposed to original equipment manufacturer warranties, which can be good or bad depending on the company) who was hapy with the product or felt they had gotten their money's worth after making a claim. And bear in mind - on the average (granted some users make off like a bandit, some never file a claim) they pay out half or sometimes much less of the premium in claims - the rest goes to marketing, administration, profit, etc.
