Need New Gas Heater and A/C unit

The home is 22 years old this year, and we are looking to replace our home heating/air conditoning system. Currently have a York gas furnace and Trane A/C. Any recommendations for brands? Live in the Phila area so finding the brand should not be an issue.

Hi sabhoy,

I would recommend you contact at least three highly rated HVAC companies on Angie's List who are not directly affiliated with a specific vendor, so you can get an expert's unbiased opionion on the top brands out there.

Good luck!

The number one mistake many home owners make when replacing their Air Conditioning System is hiring the lowest bidder. This is because the company with the lowest bid will most likely cut corners on the installation of the unit.

A homeowner should always shop quality first, and price second. Determine what the best and most efficient system is for your needs. Do research and gather information so you know what exactly needs to be done to properly install the system. Once you are armed with this knowledge you can then choose the right contractor to do the work.

That being said - All major brands manufacture quality high efficiency systems - York and Trane are both great brands if you have been happy with what you have had.
