New lift chair that lifts crooked; found part in bottom, round with teeth. Where does it go?

Since it has teeth, sounds like a drive gear broken or fallen off the motor shaft, or the matching mechanism gear from the chair which the drive gear engages with to lift the chair. Either way, with new chair, contact who you gbought it from (or manufacturer if that is who the warranty says to contact) for a repair. Likely will need some new gears because if it was loose or came off (even if not broken) during operation the teeth are probably damaged.
