Rating system issue

First I want to say that I am very supportive of what Angies List does. I think it is a good service. Nonetheless I was disappointed with my first experience rating a merchant. I had to replace the back window on my Ford Pick-up and was actually referred to a glass shop by an autoservice center I found on Angies List. I made an appointment and told them I would be bringing in an aftermarket window. I took time off from work and drove to the glass shop. When I arrived at the shop, they refused to install the window for me because it was aftermarket. When I filled out the rating I felt generous and gave them all 'Ds' There were only two reviews: mine and another rating that was all 'As'. When I checked later the company had an all A rating. When I inquired about what happened I was told that, since they did not do the service, my rating really didn't count for much even though I had lost work time and had to make another appointment and take off from work a second time. I personally think that, based on my experience, that the rating system is unfair to consumers and again, in this case, really favors the glass company over the consumer. I say this more in the hope that it might contribute to a rating system that may be a little more fair to consumers. Any thoughts from the rest of you out there?

Intersting....

I have seen on the reports where it mentions that more weight is given to reports where work was performed, so that does not surprize me much, but I would expect it to impact the overall scores more significantly than it seems to in this case.

Fear not, one thing I have learned about Angie's List clients is that they read ALL the reports, not just quickly look at the grades....
