Reinstalling a bathroom stool

I am going to try and reinstall a bathroom stool in my basement. The fixture is above ground and had a concrete pad around the fixture for the stool to sit on 'Like a Throne!' I am going to try and have the fixture put under the floor. It is very old - do you think this is a good idea, or should I just have a new 'throne' put in to sit the stool on?

Two cents worth...

Anything that is "very old" should probably be updated at the time of renovation if at all possible.

Plumbing in a basement (especially toilets which have a history of being problematic) should take as few risks as possible!
