Question DetailsAsked on 11/4/2013

Should I fix the area with the leak, replace the ridge with the leak or repair a roof?

I have a tile roof that had a leak, I am trying to determine if I should repair the roof, replace the roof on that ridge line or replace the entire roof.

Unless your tiles are severely deterioratedand breaking apart, why think about replacing more than needed. If you have broken or slipped tiles just have that area repaired. If you have a significant number of loose tiles letting wind-blown water seep in at the grout joints, then maybe it needs to be reconstructed and new roof membrane laid under it, but commonly most of the tiles can be reused when you do this, cutting your cost about in half.
