Question DetailsAsked on 8/5/2016

TV showing black screen. Plug unit in and light shows at bottom & nothing on the screen. What are possible issues?

It is a Haier Model # 48D3500. Tried the buttons on the side and the TV doesn't respond to them. The remote doesn't work the TV either. The only way to power on & off the TV is by plugging it in or unplugging it.

Google this search phrase - Haier Model # 48D3500 dead screen problems - you will find a lot of prior comments on this problem with that family of TV's. Appears dead power supply board or mother board is the common cause.

If you find well-rated and reviewed TV Repair (your Search the List category) shops in your area and call, they can probably give you a ballpark range of the cost to fix this.

Just bear in mind the cost for a similar Westinghouse 48" TV at Best Buy is $259 - so you can't afford a lot of $ in diagnosis and repairs to best the price and new warranty on a replacement. And you might consider a brand with a bit better reputation next time too.
