Tips for burying a sump pump line

I live in the Minneapolis, MN area, and I need to re-bury my sump pump line. I plan to replace the previous flexible black plastic tube that was partially buried with 1.5 inch PVC. The PVC line comes out of the house and extends about two inches below the surface until it joins with the black flexible tubing about 4 ft from the house. I'm wondering what's the recommended depth? I don't intend to take it below the frost line, so I'm more concerned with protecting the PVC pipe. Also, do you recommend some sort of T-joint or valve near the output from the house in case the line freezes?
