Water sprayed from under hood all over winshield while I was driving?

I was driving down the highway when suddenly water sprayed all over the driver's side of my winshield from under the hood. ALOT of water. I actually thought it was raining for a second. I noticed right after that the car started making a squealing noise that went away but now whenever I stop the car it starts over heating. Is it safe to drive home 25 minutes away?

It sounds like your heater hose broke or has a leak. They are normally at the back of the engine. And can spray the windshield.

*Check the expantion tank to be sure you have a good level of coolant or at least water. Be sure to do this with the car cold.

*Check your temperature Gauge and if the level starts to go past the 3/4 mark pull over as soon as it is safe to do so and turn off the engine. Keep the Ignition on with the Fan on hight and set to the Heater/ on. This will let the engine cool off faster. When the engine cools off check for coolant level again. If low add more.

*You may be able to get home this way. But at the same time all of this is a suggestion. So please be carefull and stay safe your life is more important. :) good luck!
