Question DetailsAsked on 3/21/2012

We own a double wide mobile home with an attached windowed & screened sunroom. Even with ceiling fans it gets too warm in the summer.

Other than air-conditioning it, how could we make it cooler ?

If you live in a dry climate, or semi-arid climate, an evaporative cooler (also known as a swamp cooler) can help. They are not much help in humid climates. They use much less electricity than air conditioning, but they are bulky -- somewhat larger than an air conditioner.

If your roof is not shingled, you could go to big box store (Menards Lowes etc) and buy a silver elastomeric coating like Geocell. It will reflect much of the solar heat gain thru the roof an is not that complicated to apply. Sugest you throw away roller and tray plus wear rubber gloves.
