What's the average price per sq foot for home remodel in south Jersey?

My wife and I live in a Cape (30 x 30) and want to put an 11.5 x 30 addition on the back with an eating area, a 1/2 bath, and a mudroom. The work will also involve gutting and remodeling the existing kitchen. What kind of ball park would I be looking at?

Hi all,

My wife and I are currently in the hunt for contractors in order to remodel our home. We

currently live in a Cape (30 x 30 ") and want to put an 11.5 x 30" addition on the back. The

addition will consist of: an eating area, a 1/2 bath, and a mudroom. The work will also involve

gutting and remodeling the existing kitchen.

In addition to the addition (ha), the second floor will have the back roof removed, with the

second floor brought out over a portion of the first floor addition. Everything on the second

floor will be new (3 bedrooms, 2 bath).

While I'd love a magic 8-ball, I haven't been able to conjure up any Avg Price/Sq Ft for

the South Jersey area. What kind of ball park would I be looking at? Would there be a

difference between the new (addition) and old (kitchen, portions of the 2nd floor)?

Thanks in advance!!

According to the date of the original question , this question was asked almost 3 years ago , and my suspicions tell me that a lot may have changed in that time period . The questions asked are at minimum , 2 fold , and needs much more information provided to be able to answer in a concise manner .

I would suggest that more information be provided in a more concise manner in order to get a proper answer or in this case " Proper Answers " .

Gutting and Remodeling a kitchen is but one part of the question while adding a completely new addition is the second part . Since the question asked is going on 3 years since asked originally , all that can be said is that the costs were certainly Cheaper 3 years ago than they are in 2014. Liabilty Insurance rates alone have risen more than 40% since the original query was ventured , not to mention the costs of Health Insurance .
