Sand and dirt from outside will scratch the surface of your new floors so keep them swept clean. You can purchase pre finished wood cleaner at home stores in your area. You spray the cleaner on the floor and use a terri clothe mop. Never use a bucket of water and a mop. Water will cause the wood to swell and then shrink as it dries.

A mild cleaner with no abrasives or harsh chemicals will work for just about any flooring. I have Pergo in a commercial setting and just use diluted ammonia (water) and squeegee dry. I would recommend going online to see what the manufacturer recommends. Home Depot may even carry a line under the same brand name as the flooring line.

" Bona" cleaner is fantastic. Check ace, home depot, target.

use a floor cleaner that is not water based. Bruce is one that is not. when in doubt remove the cap and smell the solution. You should be able to smell the alcohol or ether. Water and wood do not mix. Even if it does have a little water the alcohol will help it dry fast. There are to many cheap wood cleaners on the market, especially from the grocery store.
