What is a fair price to caulk and paint a chimney on a one story home?

One story home, wooden chimney. Needs caulking and paint.

Assuming you mean a chimney chase (like for a sheet metal flue "ready set" type chimney, for normal size chimney I would say about $400-500 by a painter or about $250-400 by a handyman, assuming about 220-250 SF to be painted. This assumes no significant prep work or priming is needed - just caulking and single coat painting.
