What are good exterior house stains?

You can find some replies to similar questions in the Home > Painting link in Browse Projects, at lower left. Also some commentary on the issues of penetrating versus high-build stains and how they affect longevity and wood deterioration, as well as recoat interval.


My personal opinion - depending on type of wood in some cases, Generally Olympic and Varathane is good and Pratt & Lambert/Sherwin Williams is fair, I don't like Behr or Glidden or PPG or Cabot or Minwax stains.
