Question DetailsAsked on 11/18/2014

What is typical pricing for a general contractor on a kitchen remodel and floor replacement?

Project includes replacing countertop, backsplash, and flooring; painting/refinishing cabinets; building new island and adding new appliances. We understand the cost of appliances, choices of flooring, countertops, etc. influence the budget but what should we expect as typical pricing for the general contractor to oversee the project?

There is no "typical price" as each job is different, though "normal" full remodels like you are talking about commonly run in the $30-60,000 range complete, though economy partial or limited remodels can run less and of course there is no limit for high-end ones, which are averaging about $100,000 now. US average remodel cost, according to several builder surveys, is currently about $18,000 for a limited remodel or "upgrade", and about $59,000 for a full remodel.
