Question DetailsAsked on 10/19/2011

Who make the best fiberglass windows and doors, Entry type door.

Home owner looking to replace windows and doors. No very little about it. I no that I have 26 year old Anderson Winows that are in very bad shape. All wood type with storm windows on them and they leak air and water.
Saw a Milgard fiberglass window that looked like real wood.

Anderson was a great window. But 25 years a long time even for well-painted, well built windows. Some of the vinyls are pretty good these days. I believe you knew of a product that looked like plastic? Or plastic formed to look like wood. Long story short; tear 'em out. One at a time if you're not real flush right now.

MAKE SURE you check the health of the studs, plates and rough openings. Fix them before you place the window. Or you'll just have to do it again. Or pay someone else.
