I presume you mean in Search the List by category results. Unless AL banned the company completely, you should still be able to see their results by Searching by company name rather than category even if they have been "doghoused" or "blacklisted" from the list.

As I understand it from previous AL responses, Doghousing is temporary removal from search results due to D or F overall composite ratings OR failure to respond adequately to a complaint or F review - which if they resolve the terrible ratings issues and their overall rating comes up they can "reappear" on category searches. Blacklisting, as I understand it, means the company eventually disappears from AL entirely if its performance or responsiveness is tearrible, until it reappears on Search results (or if badly rated, reappears but is doghoused again) because of new reviews being posted regarding it.

This has been a perennial complaint by AL users - that one of the worst things AL can do is to remove poorly rated companies because it makes it look like they have never been on the list and never been reviewed. Many users feel as I do that ALL companies that have been reviewed should appear on the listings, but with the D and F ones maybe color coded yellow and red as qwell as marked with their ratings, to show they are bad news or non-responsive to complaints. And of course, WHY they are so marked would be useful las well.

But c'est la vie - guess AL wants to hold out the hope to all malefactors that they might someday be able to get back on the list, but it really does give the wrong impression.

Hi,

This is James in Member Care. Thanks for your interest in Angie's List!

I apologize, but I'm not sure what you're referring to. Angie's List does not remove or edit reviews unless a member requests it to be done. It doesn't appear this email address is attached to a subscription, so there would be a number of things preventing you from accessing reviews on providers.

As for Leaf Filter specifically, we have 37 different service providers across the United States listed under that name, so you'd have to write back with more specific information as to which Leaf Filter you are inquiring about.

You can join by visiting www.angieslist.com or by giving us a call. Our call center is available 8:00 am-9:00 pm weekdays and 8:00-5:00 pm ET on Saturdays. If you join online, you can save 20% on an annual plan by using the promo code ANSWERS.

Thanks for your question and we look forward to assisting you!
